Ben was raised and schooled in Ohio. Following graduation from Cedarville College, he moved to Oahu, Hawaii to live with friends and learn to surf!
After two years of living on the North Shore of Oahu, Ben met his future wife (Kate) at a Bible study. They would eventually get married on the beach (awe!)
In 2004, Ben and Kate moved to Australia to be close to her family. They would settle on the beautiful Gold Coast where Ben became chaplain at Hillcrest Christian College and would speak to 550 middle and high school kids every week for the next seven years.
This is where his love of public really blossomed and it became obvious that he was a truly gifted communicator to young people. Ben began to get asked to come speak at other churches, weddings, youth events, community carnivals and more. He even won a stand-up comedy competition!
In 2014, Ben’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. This led to them starting to consider a move back to the USA. Then, in 2018, an opportunity presented itself. A church in Pennsylvania offered him the position of youth and associate pastor.
Ben and his family currently reside in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, where his full-time role is as the youth and associate pastor at Grace Valley Fellowship church. He is also a “character coach” on the varsity football and basketball teams at the local high school.
Ben is a lover of God, family, sports, comedy, game nights and the great outdoors. He is also a self-identified Cleveland Cavaliers fan, and a card-carrying coffee-snob.
